Our Chinese boss’s problems

Our Chinese boss is workaholic. She comes to work on Sunday and work overtime at night with factory producers. When we plan to produce a new one, she makes it by herself at first.
After then, she lets a factory manager know what kinds of problems come up. Yesterday, she didn’t go back home and beat a rivet by hammering to look for any problems of the product.

She tried to deal with everything all the time. She might not feel relieved if she doesn’t see with her own eyes.
She has over fifty employees and has a hard time controlling them.
She also manages every company and factory located in other places, such as Yiwu and Shanghai, and needs to communicate with company in South Korea.

So, I understand how busy she is, so I haven’t seen her frequently even though I am with her. The problem is that no one under her would carry out their duties as much as she satisfies.
That’s why she is too busy. I don’t know that there is no one who can replace her careers or everyone is just foolish.
Since we moved in, she has been busier. When we came to Shandong, the most troubling of all was her, not me.
This was because she might be worried about whether she can get on a factory in Shandong perfectly well. That made her end up like this.

However, she doesn’t really know that the more she works too hard, the more she makes her employees foolish and useless. This is because I don’t need other employees who don’t do their best as much as she does.

I need only her. I can’t understand why I recruited a manager… Also, the employees under her have several troubles. They don’t try to have a meeting when she comes to work late.

Why? Only she knows every work, whereas the others don’t know at all. They just do their own duties. She knows how factories and companies located in Yiwu, South Korea, Shanghai, and Shandong with her own eyes.

I told her that a boss should see the overall form of a mountain when he/she watches the mountain far away, but he/she also needs to know what kinds of trees are, what kinds of geographical features a tree grows in, and how much it grows. However, she is too infatuated with those two things.

Thus, I gave her only a few things to do and divided up the other work to others at the last meeting.
After a week, however, it was just as always. She did everything.
I am not saying that other employees didn’t carry out their own duties. Some of them did their best on those tasks, but others didn’t.
I said that our company would have already failed if she died. I also asked her that she could handle every work when she has a trouble.

She and I practically came to an agreement that she has to take day-off on Sunday, do only three tasks out of ten, set a production manager four of them, and trust others the rest of her jobs.
I’m not sure that she can do this….
If she doesn’t do so, our company and she might deal with more risks than now. I really appreciate employees who work overtime at night all the time, come to work on every Sunday, and define my company as their company.

However, I think they would better spend time with their children and family members on Sunday.

I just feel sorry for her because I made her like this… I probably hammered a thought about our company into her head.
We actually offer the three-month-maternity leave, but she returned back to work within two months after her second child was born.
It’s been more than a year since she gave birth to her second baby, but she doesn’t take a monthly holiday yet. Ms. Chin can reduce her tasks if Mr. Kook takes her duty…
However, he is too busy to help her.
But, that doesn’t mean I can help them. Thus, the division of labors is really important.

She also knows that her family is more important than her duty, but she needs to work for a living… We are living in a harsh world.
