This
is an inside story about TBWA that is an advertising company I saw through the
Chinese advertising channel. There are several pictures about it. The
combination between English and Chinese is particularly harmonious. As a big
country, China has a lot of central and local broadcasting stations region by
region. In Shanghai, China, there are the world’s top ten advertising
companies.
I don’t know about all of the Chinese advertising market, but I
think that there are numerous companies with an advanced system in China. I can
see a great deal of foreign advertising companies in Shanghai because the city
has only the world’s best companies. In South Korea, it was totally necessary
to have a brand store in Myeong-dong in order to launch the new fashion brand.
This was because stores located in Myeong-dong were an antenna shop for
advertising and promotion. Where we could find a store was a really big matter.
I am not sure it is the same now. I think Chinese is similar to South Korea. In
China, the popularity of fashion brands depends on whether it is being located
in Nanjing Road, Xintiandi, or Xujiahui in Shanghai or not.
In other words, the
world’s luxury brands already entered into Shanghai. It might be a really
important matter that South Korean fashion brands will take their first step to
decide where to open their stores in Shanghai in order to enter into the
Chinese market. Actually, our company doesn’t need to be located in Shanghai because
we are not related to fashion. Generally, our company does not have a business
with the Korean companies located in China (because it’s too hard), so we have
been doing business with a lot of Chinese companies.
I think that Shanghai,
Hangzhou, and Ningbo seem to be a fashion capital in China. Like this, we have
been studying about the Chinese brands and doing well in sales in Shanghai. We plan
to make something different about our goods again. It has been two months later
since we made a plan for the first time. However, the schedule was delayed
because of time and cost.
Also, when we prepared something new, we were getting
busier and busier, or other things were not ready. I didn’t expect that making
a plan for something was really boring, took a long time, and cost a lot. It’s
real time to be ready. People in China will have a long period of rest next
month. Our employees seem to receive rewards for working on Sundays and doing
their best without any holidays for a year during the Chinese New Year.
People
will take more than ten and less than forty-five days off. Many outsourcing
companies will start to take a break on January, 25th, and then we
plan to have a break from February, 4th to 14th, but it’s
not decided yet. If a brand places an order for sampling work on February, 20th,
we should have a shorter break. That’s my concern. No one will work immediately
after the holiday because some employees usually spend more time checking
machines, look around a factory, and cleaning while waiting for the rest of
employees who don’t come back to work yet for a week.
Probably, our factory
workers will be day-off if they don’t have any special things to work, but I am
not sure that our office employees take a good rest because of the prepared
plan at this time. This is just once a year. I don’t know how to decide…
Obviously, we will do much more things after this holiday. This is because we
always find something to work. We make a new plan for the new year. Two months
later, we will have time for new and thrilling ‘practice.’
