A
small difference definitely causes any problems.
When
we work with foreign brands, we always have communication problems.
Of course,
we should speak another language, and it also takes a long time. For example,
it takes one month to contact with them, negotiate, produce the sample,…, and
more.
The brands and our company exchange lots of mails, so we are sometimes
confused of the negotiated unit price.
In terms of this picture, a foreign
buyer asked us to use this strap, but our Chinese boss forgot this because she
tried to produce the sample three months later. The original sample must have
three small wicks inside, but our sample has only one wick and colorful thread
therein, such as blue, red, and yellow…
We finished the sample work and
received an order ten years later. Then, when we also ordered paper and were
about to work, we got a call from the brand. They asked us to stop because we
used the wrong straps. Actually, we couldn’t seemingly figure out what’s
inside.
Both straps that we actually used, and the brand originally chose had
the same texture, strength, thickness, and others. However, if we looked inside
of the straps, those were totally different.
The
quality was really low. Three pieces on the inside wouldn’t have an effect on
price, but why? They just did such a foolish thing. This seemed nothing to
someone, but we realized how purchasers felt. We make a mistake every day. We
try to make up for our mistakes only with money. When we take an order to
produce 10,000 pieces, we usually make at least 11,000 shopping bags.
We’ve got
to have several poor things on every producing process when printing,
perforating, and wrapping in foil. So, we sometimes supply 9,500 pieces to
clients even though they order 10,000. We should make 10,500 pieces when we
take an order of 11,000 if we don’t have anything particular to do. We just
treat a small dot formed when wrapping on our final step as defective. A
warehouse in our Chinese factory is full of defective goods.
We don’t know what
to do with them, so we try to discard all at a time. When we produced a brand’s
boxes last month, we wrapped them up without one producing process. The process
wasn’t really important, but we just missed out…
We
unwrapped and produced again. Then, we got 3,000 defective pieces out of
10,000. The more we unwrapped, the more we got defective goods. So, we thought
that it would be fine to supply out goods with defective ones, but it will be
serious when this problem is directly related to a claim. Anyway, we got a loss
valued at 20,000 won. We make a mistake. However, the most important thing is
that we reduce the mistakes every time.
Samsung Inc. also makes a mistake when
manufacturing a smart phone with a machine, so how do we expect not to have
defective ones made by our hands? To avoid having a fatal mistake, we always
confirm and confirm. We make a mistake, but we work like this for a living.
I
usually eat breakfast and dinner at home, but for lunch, I visit to an older
sister of our Chinese boss and eat together. They much care for me and my
lunch, so his sister usually serves chicken for me. But, I am a little bit
tired of eating this because I eat two or three times a week.
Ms.
Chin asked her brother to buy Kimchi on a way to Cheongdo, and then he gave us
a box of Kimchi. However, the problem was that he purchased too cheap one, so
it’s kind of strange. I tried to make Kimchi fried rice… it’s not good…
That
soup was stock out of chicken, so it looked oily. I was really scared of
touching the chicken at first because I could see its head and claws, but now I
just turn them as much as I couldn’t see and eat all. Three or four people eat
lunch together and take a break time for 10 minutes, and then we go back to
work. It is not easy to prevent mistakes, but it is important to reduce them.
