He asked me that we earn lots of money by producing a shopping bag. I’m
not sure we do… If he doesn’t have anything particular to do, he will come to
our factory to work. He is really diligent and faithful. He has a face of Wenzhou.
There is no tricycle anymore, but he comes to our factory at 5 a.m. for his
family living in Wenzhou even though he is over 50-year-old. We make a shopping
bag with China and Chinese people’s sorrows.
As
of December 1st, 2013, a tricycle disappeared in Yiwu, China. Rumor
has it that a mayor of Yiwu took the tricycle away because he was angry with
having a small accident in the street with a tricycle.
But, I don’t know the
fact. Anyway, a driver of a tricycle who came to our company three or four
times a day asked us to take a picture because this was his last day to come.
He
actually came to Yiwu a year ago because he thought that he would have lots of
opportunities in Yiwu instead of working in a tailoring house in Wenzhou.
His
brother operates a perforating store in Yiwu, so he stayed with him and his son
at a factory and fortunately drove a tricycle.
Kuk Min introduced another
printing office, coating house, and foil store, so he lived off the tricycle.
However,
I feel sorry for him because it prevents people from driving the tricycle at
the city government level. We tried to take a picture with a tricycle, but
there are just people on the picture… Because of his career at a tailoring
house in Wenzhou, he was really good at delivering paper.
He delivered paper perfectly
without any uneven one. Now, he helps us making a box, putting straps in a
shopping bag, and doing all those tedious work in our factory.
It is not easy
for him to spend lots of money in operating a tailoring house, to look for a
job in his age, and to earn a big income as a casual laborer.
He used to
comfort his joy and sorrow with his tricycle, but now he can’t.
He doesn’t have
a driver’s license, so he can’t drive a car. Life is…
