The consistency of power, speed and temperature – masterpiece, Roger Dubuis


There might be no worth about millions won. The watch brand, Roger Dubuis, has a price range from tens of millions of won to hundreds of millions of won.
Well, I’m not sure that it is a luxury thing or masterpiece. Anyway, it is obvious that it is an expensive watch.

Generally, when I receive a contact from a luxury brand for a watch, clothing, or bag, I get to pay attention to those items more even though the number of shopping bags that they want to have is not much.

Producing a premium product sometimes feels as if I was taking a test.

We have made shopping bags for Piaget and Roger Dubuis, so, now, we really want to challenge to make it for IWC.


We used 300g of baibaika. (baibai means very white.) We were really satisfied with a strap as thick as we couldn’t imagine.
We gave a logo a little tooling on a soft gold foil rather than light gold. Paper was so thick, and an area to hit the foil was so wide that there were some parts that were burst or were not imprinted on the foil if we wrongly hit it. We have produced these items three times, but some minor problems keep coming out again and again. So, it seems to make me feel as if I took a test to see how well we will make a shopping bag.

There are many different levels of difficulty about coating.
If we usually print an ink stick on paper, print it with black color back and forth, and coat on it, some scratches stick out much. To prevent the method of making lots of scratches, we don’t do the general coating on the paper.

What only I know is not the best way, but I cannot one hundred percent guarantee the success of it yet. Thus, if I get some errors of it, I will spread this way more widely.

I went to and stayed at Cheongdo because of some emergency with Mr. Ahn. One of employees was hitting a foil kept calling me to say that there were too many errors coming out.
There were two problems, which were related to the temperature and a film of the foil. When I asked him that it was serious, he said it was.

Then, he also said there was no solution about it. So what did he expect us to do? Mr. Ahn and I were not a specialist to hit a foil. With anxiousness, we headed to a factory again because he said there was no way to solve it. However, we found out some solutions even thought it was not easy.

Thus, I always feel that people have a lot of experiences about anything. Hitting a foil, printing, and doing thomson use different machines, but they are running in the similar principle.
However, if we are stuck into the principle, we just think of it manually. At that time, we just thought that the problems were related to the temperature and a film of a foil, but we have never imagined that it was because of the principle power.

It is really complicated.. about the connection between the principle of power, speed, the temperature of a foil, and the thickness of a tooling plate when the size of a foil is large, and it is done with a tooling at same time.
Power does not only affect mass (temperature) and speed, but also seems to be closely connected to the change into mass (temperature) and speed.

At all events, we are still going (crawling) around now.
